Photographic Works by Laila Seidel

Abundance is Laila Seidel’s first limited photographic edition and part of her ongoing body of work Food for the Eyes.

Positioned between photography and painting, the series explores colour, materiality and visual depth through close-up compositions of richly layered paint surfaces. Moments of intense colour saturation, glossy textures and dense pigment create almost sculptural visual landscapes.

Created from an immediate fascination with colour, materiality and the exploration of visual depth, the photographs function as autonomous artworks — sensual, vibrant and immersive in their presence.

Produced as limited photographic objects on lightweight art panels with matte surfaces and rear hanging systems, the works appear to float slightly away from the wall and develop a distinct spatial presence.
